Victorian Home Extension & Loft Conversion, Beeston
This project sees the sensitive transformation of an existing Victorian property in the heart of Beeston, Nottinghamshire, combining contemporary design with the character of the original home.
The renovation and extension reimagines the ground floor through a new single-storey rear and side extension, creating a generous open-plan kitchen and dining space with a strong visual and physical connection to the garden. The extension is defined by a zinc-clad lean-to roof, complemented by brickwork walls that respond to the existing property. Large openings flood the interior with natural light, while gable glazing follows the form of the structure, introducing a distinctly contemporary architectural expression that sits comfortably alongside the Victorian architecture.
Above, a new flat-roof dormer loft conversion maximises the potential of the roof space. Finished in tile to blend with the existing roofscape, the dormer incorporates glazed doors with a juliette balcony, bringing light and views into the new accommodation. The top floor now hosts a spacious master suite, complete with ensuite bathroom and dedicated dressing room, providing a private and calm retreat within the home.
The project successfully balances old and new—enhancing modern living requirements while respecting the scale, materials, and context of this central Beeston property.
